Opportunities provided by regulatory pressures to move towards lower emissions will be highlighted to UK businesses through a new collaboration of industry and the Carbon Trust.
The Confederation of British Industry (CBI) and the independent company have joined forces to help businesses from FTSE 100 firms to small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) take action on climate change.
According to the Carbon Trust: "The partnership will support business through these difficult economic times and beyond to help them integrate emissions reduction into corporate strategy, manage and reduce the direct and indirect emissions and provide a wide range of advice and support for companies of all sizes. "
Since being founded by the government in 2001 to accelerate the move to a low carbon economy, the Carbon Trust claims that it has helped UK businesses save over £1 billion.
Meanwhile, the CBI has launched a Climate Change Tracker to monitor progress towards reducing carbon emissions and increasing renewable energy generation.
