A wind farm in Cambridgeshire has received planning permission to expand following the withdrawal of an objection from a neighbouring power facility.
E.ON's Stags Holt at Coldham was granted permission by Fenland council to put up another turbine bringing its total to ten.
When the company initially applied for permission, the Co-op, which operates a neighbouring seven-turbine wind farm objected, claiming an extra turbine would degrade their own site's "energy capture".
The Co-op had complained that approving another turbine was not in the spirit of "protecting consented assets from unreasonable interference," according to documents seen by the Wisbech Standard.
However, following the settling of the objection, a report from the planners has given its approval to the extra turbine.
At the moment, the Stag's Holt wind farm has a capacity to generate 18 megawatts from its 100-metre tall turbines.
E.ON's wind farm is contributing to national renewable targets.
The EU has committed to generating 20 per cent of all electricity from renewable sources.
