It is currently a good time to be a landlord in the UK, one commentator has stated, revealing that concerns over the recession and job security are continuing to prompt people into renting, rather than buying, a home.
Tom Entwistle, editor at LandlordZONE, said that another factor which was strengthening the rental market was the fact that the housing market was now showing signs of recovery.
This meant that reluctant landlords - people who had been forced to rent their homes when unable to sell them - were now taking steps to put them on the market again, reducing the competition.
"I would say the long term prospects for the residential lettings market in the UK are very good," Mr Entwistle said.
However, Britons who feel inspired to become landlords may wish to keep in mind their responsibilities when it comes to home heating.
Should a property feature a
gas boiler it must be serviced by a member of Gas Safe
TM Register once a year in order to ensure the safety of the tenants.
