Consumers frequently do not take the time to research all the available options when it comes to choosing central heating or a new
gas boiler, it has been claimed.
According to online resource Boilerguide, technological advances mean that there are now numerous types of boiler available on the market, but many people still opt for the cheapest one, which may not be the most suitable for their needs.
"A larger home with two or more bathrooms will benefit much more from a regular
gas boiler, as the separate hot and cold water tanks can provide multiple bathrooms with hot water at the same time," explains David Holmes, founder of Boilerguide.
He adds that a combination boiler could be a suitable model for a smaller property as it allows water to be heated when the household needs it.
And by splashing out for a condensing boiler, Britons may find the product pays for itself through
reduced gas and electricity bills. The Energy Saving Trust states that when used in conjunction with heating controls such a device can reduce annual utility bills by some £275.
