Purchasing a new condensing gas boiler could make a "huge difference" when it comes to achieving cheaper gas and electricity bills, it has been suggested.

Britons who wish to use energy efficiency in order to achieve cheaper gas and electricity bills have been advised to purchase a condensing boiler.

Online resource Low Carbon - which offers energy efficiency advice to people in Cheshire - suggests that a condensing boiler can make a "huge difference" when it comes to energy bills.

Citing advice from the Energy Saving Trust, it adds that the average lifespan of a boiler is 15 years and that older models waste more energy than the newer condensing types.

"If everyone in the UK who could installed a condensing boiler with a full set of heating controls, CO2 emissions would be cut by around 6.7 million tonnes," it claims.

When choosing a new gas boiler, the article suggests ensuring it comes with an Energy Saving Recommended logo so that homeowners can be sure they will have cheaper gas bills.

And pubs in the UK may also wish to choose such an appliance, after it was revealed that the Carbon Trust is to offer loans designed to boost the energy efficiency of drinking establishments.
