Underfloor heating 'could boost energy efficiency'

Britons who are involved in the construction process of their own property may wish to ensure that they request underfloor heating.

The advice comes from online resource Boilerguide, which claims that such a system is more cost-effective than other types of central heating and can also boost energy efficiency.

This is because while underfloor heating is just as effective as other types of home heating system, it runs at a lower temperature.

And the group advises that the system is paired with a condensing boiler for the best results, as the devices operate at higher efficiency even at low temperatures.

Boilerguide estimates that a small property with underfloor heating could see savings of 20 per cent, increasing to 40 per cent in larger homes.

"Underfloor heating is a really good way of economising a property whilst also adding value to it. The savings that can be made mean that it doesn't take long for the underfloor heating system to pay for itself," notes David Holmes, founder of the firm.

When purchasing a new gas boiler, the group recently urged Britons to make sure they pick the right make and model to best cater to the needs of their home.
