Lower energy costs will appeal to businesses that move in to a new building equipped with a range of renewable energy and energy efficient measures, according to the company managing the commercial estate.
A biomass boiler and so-called chilled beams will help regulate the temperature at the new 3 Assembly Square building in the Cardiff Waterside development.
Chilled beams use water, instead of air, to carry the heat out of internal spaces and use less energy than air based equivalents.
Together with the energy efficiency measures inside the building, the green construction practices of building contractors helped it secure a BREEAM 'excellent' rating.
As a result of these measures, the building will have lower costs and carbon emissions, a fact the managing firm claims will appeal to businesses.
Joy MySmythurs, partner at Knight Frank LLP, said: "Office occupiers are increasingly interested in environmental sustainability, particularly since the 2006 Stern Report on reducing carbon emissions."
