In a bid to
cut household's energy bills by £300 a year, the government has launched a scheme to refurbish all UK homes with energy efficiency measures.
Insulation, ground source heat pumps and solar heating are among the technologies that will be supported as part of the "Great British refurb" announced by energy and climate change secretary Ed Miliband.
He said that the government was aiming to facilitate
insulation for all UK homes by 2015, and for 'whole-home' green makeovers to be available to all households by 2030.
"We need to move from incremental steps forward on household energy efficiency to a comprehensive national plan - the Great British refurb," Mr Miliband noted.
"Every home must be able to access the help and technology it needs, whether it be the installation of a ground or air source heat pump, solar-heating, solid wall
insulation, or access to a district heating scheme."
We can help homes become more energy efficient and cut their energy bills.
Among our recommendations are installing double glazing,
insulation and replacing boilers.
