Energy efficiency in a new home could save the owner £1,000 in energy bills a year, according to the builder.
The house, which has
insulation and a ground source heat pump among the energy efficiency features, has been designed to save its residents 75 per cent a year on heating bills, according to house builder Mactaggart & Mickel.
At the official opening Scottish Green Party co-convenor Patrick Harvie MSP said: "Just as Scotland's existing housing stock must be made more energy efficient, so we need to ensure our new homes are easy on the planet and cheaper to run. This imaginative and ground-breaking project therefore sets a high standard for the rest of the industry to live up to."
The "green house" meets level four of the Code for Sustainable Homes.
We can advise residents on how to make savings on their energy bills through both home improvements and simple steps around the home.
