Energy efficiency for households will be the focus of a series of forums held to inform the public.
The series of events, launched last week by energy and climate change minister Joan Ruddock, will inform householders about a range of heat and energy saving measures.
Residents in various UK towns will participate in the consultation on how to help cut domestic carbon dioxide emissions to almost zero by 2050.
Ms Ruddock said: "To achieve this, we need to move beyond simple measures such as loft
insulation, and start offering whole house energy-makeovers - looking at more radical measures such as solid wall
insulation, solar heating, ground or air-source heat pumps, or access to a district heating scheme."
Last week the government announced plans to give all homes a green makeover.
The first phase will see all homes insulated by 2015 as part of the 'Great British refurb'.
We can help households become more energy efficient and recommend measures such as installing an energy efficient boiler, double glazing and
insulation.
