Summertime energy efficiency 'for cheaper gas and electric bills'

08/07/2009 11:55

With the UK experiencing a heatwave in recent weeks, many homeowners have switched off their central heating for the summer, therefore helping to gain cheaper gas and electricity bills.

And according to Tescocompare.com, the energy efficiency measures need not stop there, as the warm weather proves to be the best time for taking action on utility bills.

The group advises purchasing an energy monitor as this can help with giving a more accurate view of what different appliances in the house consume in terms of power.

We are currently offering a free energy monitor to all of out customers on our Energy Saver tariff.

In addition, customers can sign up to earn Tesco Clubcard points on their gas and electric bills.

The price comparison site notes that simple steps in energy efficiency can also help to further reduce such bills - such as switching off lights and not leaving coffee machines on stand-by.

To help Britons reduce their gas bills even further, we recently lowered our prices by 3.3 per cent.
