Britons who wish to protect their households from the effects of carbon monoxide poisoning have been advised to ensure they have their
gas boiler and other gas appliances serviced regularly.
Stacey Rodgers was speaking to the Huddersfield Examiner about the charity she has set up following the death of her ten-year-old son from carbon monoxide poising.
Dominic Rodgers died after the toxic gas leaked into his home from a neighbouring property's faulty
gas boiler.
Mrs Rodgers stated: "We want everyone to have alarms too at home and abroad but, if everyone had a service on their appliances, there wouldn't be a problem."
She added that while a gas check may seem expensive, it was not pricey when compared to ensuring the safety of a household.
Britons may be interested to hear that any engineer they hire to carry out a gas service must be a member of the Gas Safe
TM register to legally carry out such work.
