The ongoing economic crisis may create more opportunities to develop a low-carbon economy and opportunities within the
sustainable energy sector.
According to Northgate Public Services, if the authorities want to meet targets surrounding
green energy and property development then new forms of business collaboration need to take place between public and private initiatives.
The body was responding to the Communities and Local Government consultation on zero-carbon homes.
Russell Osborne, managing director of Citizen Solutions for Northgate Public Services, said the organisation totally supports the government's ambitions to promote zero-carbon buildings.
"It is critical that the battle against fuel poverty is integral to building a zero carbon future and that we seize the opportunity to build a dynamic and flourishing energy efficiency market which will provide jobs and a sustainable future for our local communities," he stated.
