Carbon dioxide emissions from the UK have fallen by two per cent between 2007 and 2008, the Department for Energy and Climate Change has revealed.
Energy & Climate Change Minister, Joan Ruddock said: "Once again emissions in the UK are down. It's clear that our policies will achieve more than what's required under Kyoto, but we have much more to do at home to maintain our leadership globally."
She added: "Everyone will have a part to play, from government and businesses down to each of us in our homes."
Under the Carbon Emissions Reduction Target, the energy industry is to reduce domestic carbon emissions by 154 million tonnes of CO2.
We can help households reduce their carbon footprint and
cut their energy bills by advising on installing
insulation, energy efficient boilers and other measures.
