Improving energy efficiency of a home raises the property's value, according to an letting agency.

As well as cutting the cost of heating and powering a home, energy efficiency measures can boost the property's value, according to a letting agency.

Accord has urged homeowners to carry out green improvements, with a particular emphasis on insulation, which the company claims is often overlooked.

Carl Mimmack of Accord noted that new rules require the energy performance certificate of a home to be made available to buyers and tenants when they first move in and that this should be an incentive to homeowners to improve their property.

He said: "Cavity walls can easily be insulated for a few hundred pounds, and with the money you can save over a few months, this can be very worthwhile project.

"Alternatively, draught proofing can also be very effective at cutting heating bills, and is often covered under the landlord's energy saving allowance."

We can help homeowners make energy efficiency improvements in their homes.

Using our interactive house webpage they can go room to room noting the improvements, with the energy and carbon savings that can be made in each space.
