Insulation has helped a pensioner bring her
energy bills down to below £9 a month.
Margaret Pracy, a town crier in Brighton and Hove, has to live within a tight state pension and made various energy savings moves to reduce her energy bills as a consequence.
The pensioner made use of the government's Warm Front scheme to install loft
insulation in her home.
Together with measures such as putting a brick in her toilet cistern, drawing the curtains and dusk and always turning off lights when she leaves a room, she has brought her energy bill down, reports the Argus.
She told the newspaper:" I'm time rich but cash poor but I think that other people need to take it seriously.
"It's not about saving money really, it's about saving energy."
We can help pensioners receive free
insulation, as well as people receiving jobseeker's allowance, income support, housing benefit or other forms of government support.
