Renewable energy is on the agenda for one youth group in Scotland, thanks to the award of almost £200,000 of funding.
Climate Challenge Fund has awarded the money to Route 81, an outdoor centre in Garelochhead, which will be put towards new double glazing,
insulation and a renewable energy heating system, all of which could result in cheaper gas and electricity bills, the Helensburgh Adviser reports.
Following the renovation project, the group hopes the centre will be open next year.
Commenting on the news, chairman Alistair Duncan said: "Not only will these measures make us more environmentally friendly, but they will also help to reduce the costs of running and maintaining the facility."
Projects from across the country have been awarded with money from the fund, which aims to reduce the carbon footprint of communities and inspire others to take similar action.
Meanwhile, the Wrexham Chronicle has reported that Brymbo and Broughton are set to have access to £3.7 million of Welsh Assembly funding to put towards making homes in the area more energy efficient.
