A new type of
gas boiler which is claimed to be more energy efficient and better at reducing carbon emissions than older models is set to make an appearance on the commercial market, it is reported.
Online resource Boiler Guide explains that the combined heat and power (CHP) unit not only produces heating and hot water for the home like other
gas boiler makes, it can also generate electricity.
This means that it is able to use fuel in a more efficient manner, resulting in a reduced carbon footprint and
cheaper gas and electricity bills.
Furthermore, the group notes that a CHP is regarded as a renewable energy source, due to its ability to use the same amount of energy to produce hot water, heating and electricity.
And homeowners who invest in the technology may one day be able to boost their income by selling any energy they do not use directly to the National Grid.
Meanwhile, Boiler Guide recently claimed that a government boiler scrappage scheme would better allow consumers to invest in energy efficiency.
