FAQ Subject - Estimated Readings

Why do E.ON use estimated readings?

If the meter reading company are unable to gain readings for your property then we'll need to generate an estimated reading. This will be based upon the previous energy consumption at your property and the time of year. If you receive an estimated bill, you can supply us with your actual readings by managing your account online. Just click on Your Account to log in or register.

If you don't manage your account online, you can still provide us with meter readings. You’ll need the account number shown on your latest bill or contract and your postcode.

Alternatively you can phone or email us with your readings. For more information on how to do this please see our Contact Us page. Where necessary we can provide you with a replacement bill.

The more factual readings we have on your account the more accurate both your billing and any future estimates will be as we’ll have a better record of your recent usage. Factual readings include readings provided by you, obtained by our appointed meter readers or collected electronically through the meter.
