Feed In Tariffs

Receive cashback for electricity you generate

Feed-in Tariff (FiT) is available on all eligible installations and has been paid on generation from April 2010. It is cashback that is paid on generation of electricity by the technology, whether it is used or exported back to the grid.

With a single 2.8kWp (kWpeak) solar photovoltaic (PV) array on one of your properties, you could generate over £27,000 of additional revenue over 25 years, £14,500 profit to re-invest after covering the cost of installation in little more than 10 years1.

How the FiT works

  • The current Feed-in Tariff has been set by Government for a full 25 years at guaranteed rates2
  • You'll be paid for all the electricity you generate whether you use it or not
  • You'll receive  an additional payment for the electricity you export back to the electricity network
  • Because you're generating your own electricity from Solar PV, the building occupier will avoid the cost of buying it from the electricity network
  • E.ON take care of all the metering, registration and certification required to claim the Feed-in Tariff

Based upon current legislation, the payments you will receive (for 25 years) if you choose to install a new array after 31st March 2012 are likely to be lower than if you act now as rates are due to be reviewed by government, so contact us for a no-obligation estimate of our solar PV installation costs and potential revenues. And remember, installing solar PV will also help you meet the Code for Sustainable Housing (CSH), planning requirements and your own CO2 reduction targets.

Solar panels are already generating savings

Solar PV panels are generating income for a Housing Association in the South East, earning a potential of £191,000 with 253 solar PV panels over 25 years3.

E.ON's headquarters solar array has the potential to generate 25 mega watt hours per year and it also saves around 14.2 tonnes of CO2 per annum.

Your next step

Let E.ON take care of the design, installation, any meter requirements and claiming the Feed-in Tariff. It's simple, hassle-free and who better to help you than one of the world's largest investor-owned energy companies with all the accreditations and certification you'll need for installing Solar PV.

If you need help in meeting the legislation and regulations that affect you, call 0800 051 5687 (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm) or email us.

1 based on an annual generation of 2,530KWh and a 50% export rate at 3p per kWh over 25 years and a generation tariff rate of 41.3p per kWh and an installation cost of £12,500.

2 The payments you will receive if you choose to install a new array after 31st March 2012 will be lower than if you act now, so contact us today for a no-obligation estimate of our solar PV installation costs and potential revenues.

3 Based on a solar PV installation of 46.8kWp (kW peak) with a panel area of 349m2 split across six blocks of flats, which generate a total annual output of 39,037 kWh. Feed-In Tariff rate of 36.1 pence kWh, an export tariff of 3 pence per kWh and an electricity grid price of 13.3 pence per kWh and on site usage of 50% over 25 years. Installation cost of £177,000. This delivers a return on investment of 8%
