How can I get a copy of my bill?

You can view current and previous bills by logging onto our website and registering as an online customer. You'll need your account number and postcode in order to register. Once you've registered, you can also print your bill if you'd like to have a paper copy.

How can I find out what my charging/pricing structure is?


Go to our website to register as an online customer. Once registered, you can view or download a copy of your bill where your current prices will be displayed.

How can I make a payment today?

You can make a payment online using a debit or credit card, or  you can make a payment by cheque, debit or credit card, standing order or pay by cash at your bank or local post office. 

Alternatively, if you register for online account management you can set up a fixed monthly Direct Debit.

If you prefer, you can make a payment over the phone by calling 0345 055 0065.

How can I set up a Direct Debit?

You'll need to go to our website to register as an online customer and then you'll be able to set up your Direct Debit. If you have an outstanding balance on the account, you'll need to clear this by choosing the 'Pay your bill' option on the left hand menu. Once this is complete, you'll be able to set up your monthly Direct Debit.

How do I get a refund of my credit balance?

If you pay by fixed monthly Direct Debit, your account balance is likely to be in credit for certain periods during the year. If your account is in credit and based on actual, not estimated readings, you can request this back at any time. However, if you choose to do this, you may not have any credit to use up during the winter months when you're likely to use a lot more energy.

To request a refund, call 0345 302 4315. Please make sure you have your account number and an up to date meter reading to hand.

How do I submit a VAT declaration?

How do I submit a VAT declaration?


If you are entitled to receive your supply at the reduced rate of VAT you should print out and complete the below VAT declaration and send it to the address on the form. We may then be able to back date your declaration for four years for VAT and four years for Climate Change Levy (CCL) Exemptions.

I am moving in/out - what do I need to do?

If you're moving premises please complete our online forms, or alternatively you can call us on 0345 301 4881.

We'll need to know the dates when the property changed hands, meter readings from this date and any information regarding the new occupier.

I have had an estimated bill, how can I give you a reading?

You can enter your meter readings online. Alternatively, if you don't want to register as an online customer, but be prompted to provide regular readings, please go to our meter reading page and select the 'continue to meter readings' option. You will be asked to provide your postcode, account number, and email address - you can then select to be prompted for readings.

I think my bill is incorrect, what do I do?

If you think your bill is incorrect please check the charges are based on actual (rather than estimated) readings. 

For electricity, if your estimated readings are within 250 units of the reading on your bill, your bill does not need amending. For gas, if the difference is within 45 units for a 4/6 dial meter and within 120 units if you have a 5 dial meter, then your bill doesn't need amending.

If your bill is higher than you expected you can also check how many days the bill is for, as it may be for a longer period of time than your normal bill. You can also check to see if your prices have recently changed. 

The more factual readings we have on your account, the more accurate any future estimates will be as we'll have a better record of your recent usage. Actual readings include readings provided by you, obtained by our appointed meter readers or collected electronically through the meter.

What is Climate Change Levy?

Climate Change Levy (CCL) was set up to encourage business and public sectors to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions of greenhouse gases.

The rates applicable from 1 April 2012 for electricity and gas are:

Electricity 0.509 p/kWh

Gas 0.177 p/kWh

The levy is subject to VAT.

How do I find out if I'm exempt from Climate Change Levy?

Why is VAT calculated on some bills at 5% and others at 20%?

You're charged VAT at 20% if you use 33 electricity units or more per day, and if your gas usage is 145 kilowatt hours per day or more. 


VAT on consumption under these figures is charged at 5%.
