What if I want to cancel my transfer to E.ON?

If you change your mind about switching to E.ON, please call us on 0345 301 4905  within 14 days from the date you signed up.

What should I do if I haven't had my final bill from my old supplier?

When you give opening meter readings to us, we send these to your old supplier so they can send you a final bill. Your old supplier can take up to 6 weeks from the date that you switched to E.ON to send you a final bill.

If you’ve not had a final bill and you joined E.ON more than six weeks ago you should call your old supplier and ask them to send this to you.

Do I need to let my current supplier know I'm transferring to E.ON?

There’s no need to contact your current supplier, we’ll do that for you.

To help make sure there are no delays you should pay any recent bills that you’ve had from your current supplier.

Changing supplier takes about five weeks from the date that you signed up. To help make sure that there are no delays you should pay any recent bills that you’ve had from your current supplier.

You’ll be asked for a meter reading when your transfer is nearly complete, once we’ve asked you to do this you can give us your meter readings online.

When will you need my first meter reading?

We’ll write to you or email you before your start date to tell you the date that we expect to finish your transfer and ask for your opening meter readings.

We’ll use these readings as the opening readings on your first bill or statement from E.ON. We also send them to your old supplier so your final bill is accurate.

If you don’t send us your meter readings in time then we may have to use estimated meter readings instead.

The easiest way for you to provide your meter readings is by doing this online.

How will I know when I'm an E.ON customer?

We’ll write to you or email you to ask for opening meter readings. When we contact you we’ll also confirm the date that your supply starts with us. We’ll contact you again once the transfer is complete to welcome you to E.ON.

To find your electricity supply number, take a look at your bill and look for the ‘supply number’. It looks like the example below with a large 'S' and a grid of numbers.
