Customer Service Apprentice Scheme

You bring the energy, we provide the spark.

Customer services

Duration: 18 months
Location: Coventry

What we do

E.ON provides electricity to five million homes here in the UK. While keeping the lights on is what we’re famous for, keeping our customers happy is what motivates us. We employ over 4,000 people in our contact centres and have been voted Britain’s Best Energy Supplier for two years in a row. So this is a chance to learn from the very best. Our Customer Service Apprenticeship Scheme offers a great opportunity if you want to embark on an interesting career but don't have any qualifications. The scheme is open to anyone who’s interested in customer service who is about to leave school or college or isn't currently in education, employment or training. What’s more, not only will you be gaining valuable experience with a leading energy company, our Customer Service Apprenticeship is equivalent to an NVQ Level 2.

What you’ll do

You’ll start on a pre-apprenticeship programme which lasts for seven weeks beginning 20 April 2015. During this time, you’ll receive training in the skills you need to succeed in the world of work (such as communication, customer service, how to prepare a CV and interview techniques). We’ll also provide you with practical work experience so that you can get a feel for what it’s like to work for E.ON, and we can make sure you have the right attitude and abilities to deliver great customer service.  If you impress us, you’ll then have the opportunity to progress onto our Customer Service Apprenticeship. This is a paid apprenticeship lasting a minimum of 18 months that will see you based in our Coventry Contact Centre within the Sales Compliance Monitoring & Controls team. Once you’re here, you’ll develop the skills you need for the job as well as gaining a thorough understanding of our wider Customer Operations business. This will make you very well placed to progress with us once the apprenticeship comes to an end.

What we’re looking for

We look for enthusiastic individuals with a positive attitude – you’ll be eager to learn and will have great communication skills – both written and spoken. To be able to identify a customer’s needs and provide them with solutions you’ll also need strong problem solving skills.  So if you feel that this describes you and you’re reliable when it comes to attendance and timekeeping – we’d love to hear from you.
