Lockerbie, home to the biggest biomass plant in Scotland.
Steven’s Croft generates enough electricity to power the equivalent of around 70,000 homes* and saves up to around 140,000 tonnes of greenhouse gasses every year.
Steven's Croft gave back to the local and regional economy by creating 40 jobs and helps to maintain up to 300 jobs in the local forestry industry. There have also been huge benefits to local farming from the long term, low risk energy crop initiative developed by E.ON.
In December 2007, Steven's Croft was named Scotland's best renewable energy project at the Scottish Renewables' Green Energy Awards.
