With the UK being the windiest country in Europe we are well placed to take advantage of this natural resource. Wind energy is regarded as one of our most promising renewable energy technologies - it's a relatively mature industry and is long established as a viable option for UK power generation.
We're committed to the development of wind farms, both onshore and offshore and have a significant number of projects in various stages of development.
We are one of the UK's leading renewable generators with 23 wind farms – both onshore and offshore – and another 1,500MW of renewable capacity under development, including biomass and offshore wind. In partnership, we have also recently completed the London Array – the world’s largest offshore wind farm, capable of producing enough electricity to power almost half a million homes.
