E.ON to no longer progress with the Allt Rubha Wind Farm project
E.ON has made the decision not to progress with the proposed 9 turbine Allt Rubha Wind Farm, near Inverneill in Argyll and Bute, following a detailed review of the project. Analysis of the wind data gathered over two years has shown that the site is not suitable for the size of turbines that were being considered in the planning application due to inconsistent and unsatisfactory wind speeds. As a result, we have decided to withdraw from the project.
We wish to pass on our thanks to the local community for their patience on this project and for the valuable input their feedback provided. E.ON continues to invest in onshore wind which we believe has an important role to play in meeting the UK’s 2020 renewable targets and remains one of the cheapest low carbon technologies available. We have a portfolio of 12 onshore wind projects in various stages of development in Scotland, as well as 15 fully operational sites in the UK.
