E.ON has welcomed the approval of its application for Enoch Hill Wind Farm by the Scottish Government following a Public Inquiry. The 16-turbine site will be located west of New Cumnock in East Ayrshire and will be capable of producing around 54.4MW of electricity. Formal consent was granted on Friday 13th September

We look forward to working closely with the Council and local residents going forward in order to ensure everyone is fully informed of progress going forward.

Previous information

E.ON submitted an initial application for 19 turbines at Enoch Hill Wind Farm to Scottish Government in 2015. During the course of the planning consultation process, this application was revised and the turbines reduced to 16. The wind farm, if consented, will be located approximately 5km south-west of New Cumnock, and would be capable of producing up to 54.4MW of electricity.

Since launching the proposals in 2012, we have worked closely with the community and undertaken extensive consultation to understand local concerns. Where possible, changes have been made to reflect both community and environmental feedback.
