Project Information

Latest update (February 2017)

After careful consideration E.ON has made the decision not to progress with the proposed Glashian (formally Kilmichael) Wind Farm, near Lochgilphead in Argyll & Bute following a detailed review of the project.

After considering feedback from all consultees and the environmental information already collected, E.ON has considered the site unsuitable for a wind farm development. Recent planning decisions and a detailed review of current cumulative activity in the area also feed into the final decision.

E.ON wishes to pass on its thanks to the local community for their patience on this project and for the valuable input their feedback provided.

E.ON continues to invest in onshore wind which we believe has an important role to play in meeting the UK’s 2020 renewable targets and remains one of the cheapest low carbon technologies available. We have a portfolio of 8 onshore wind projects in various stages of development in Scotland, as well as 16 fully operational sites in the UK.
