We've identified the Glashan area as a possible site for a new wind farm following Forestry Commission Scotland (FCS) awarding us the right to explore the potential for new wind energy projects over 5 megawatts (MW) on two areas of land within the Scottish National Forest Estate
At the moment, we believe the site has the potential to accommodate up to 26wind turbines, generating up to 88.4 MW of electricity, depending on the capacity of the turbine model we select.
We are planning to submit a planning application for up to two meteorological (met) mast, which will gather information on wind speeds and direction. This will help us identify the best places to install turbines should the project go ahead.
We are continuing ornithology surveys at present and will be undertaking noise monitoring at nearby properties over the coming months. We are planning to submit a planning application for the project in 2017.
