Ovenden Moor Repower
The delivery dates of the turbines for the Ovenden Moor wind farm have now been confirmed. The delivery of the first turbine components is set to take place on the 23rd, 24th and 25th of July along the approved route (a full list of the proposed delivery dates/ route can be found in the project information page. Assembly of the 9 new turbines will take place throughout the summer with planned completion autumn/winter 2016.

All the old turbines have now been decommissioned and removed from site. Construction works on the windfarm roads, crane hard standings and turbine bases are now complete however construction of the new control building is still currently ongoing.
If you’ve spotted the work that’s been going on at Ovenden Moor, you may have noticed the majority of the old turbines have now been taken down. To keep disruption to a minimum, we’re decommissioning the existing site and commissioning the new one at the same time.
We've been making good progress with the project and the components for the new turbines are now being manufactured, in preparation for delivery. We’ve also begun preparing the ground and the foundation bases for the new turbines, and this work should be completed by the end of 2015.
Throughout 2016, we’ll let you know how things are going and we will continue to provide updates on the progress of the project.
We have been working since the consent to get the site ready for decommissioning and construction, and by the end of May, the construction team will be in a position to begin some of the initial works on site.
