Leadership

Listening to our people

Diversity of thought and experience helps us to connect with our customers. That's why our leaders are involved in reverse mentorships, regular listening sessions with our people and quarterly 'Ask the Board' livestreams.

A net zero future needs new skills and we’re proud to offer purposeful work where our people are part of leading the energy transition.

I’m passionate about creating a culture where everyone feels respected, valued and a sense of belonging. Through our inclusive culture, everyone is empowered to grow, thrive and to be the best they can. I believe our diversity of backgrounds and experiences will help us to connect with and understand our diverse customers and communities.

Ramona Vlasiu (she/her)

Chief Operating Officer (COO) E.ON Next

Changing our habits when it comes to energy can sometimes feel like we’re fighting our way to a sustainable future. That’s why I’m proud to be part of helping our customers to navigate the energy shift that is upon us.

I joined the UK board of management in January 2022, leading the new E.ON Next business where we’re focused on providing sustainable energy and making a difference.

Having started my career as a lawyer in Romania, I was honoured to be one of the youngest women to be appointed in an executive role in 2006. After various roles within the EON Romanian group, I moved to E.ON UK in 2014 holding an expat contract in the first instance, wanting to expand my knowledge, experience and cultural diversity across the EON Group. And I can say that truly happened - not only I have fully enjoyed my time in EON UK, I now live in the UK with my husband and two children.

With a degree in law, I completed my studies through graduating an Executive MBA, with Distinction at The University of Sheffield, also obtaining an Executive Degree in Strategic Management and Leadership from Chartered Management Institute in London.

I’m a passionate, optimistic and positive person and take pride in inspiring people around me. I’m a true believer in diversity and inclusion and play an active role in supporting and encouraging career progression.

Besides my executive career, I’m a member of the International Industrial Advisory Board of University of York UK, Europe Campus – City College. I previously also acted as an Arbitrator within the Romanian Chamber of Commerce – Internal and International Commercial Arbitration Court, as well as following an academic path, teaching labour law as an assistant lecture in one of Romania’s Law Universities.

Christopher Börger (he/him)

Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

My passion is keeping the energy bill affordable for our customers, while also ensuring a financially strong and stable organisation. Continuing to help our colleagues learn and grow to master the ongoing challenges around us is also a key passion for me. This is how we help make the energy transition a success, especially in the volatile world we’re now living in.

I’ve worked within the E.ON Group for over 20 years and it’s been a pleasure to work with and learn from so many great teams in different units and regions of E.ON. For the past two years, I’ve had the honor to work for Essent, the E.ON subsidiary in the Netherlands, as their CFO.

Before that, I had the opportunity to work in several international management positions at E.ON, including Germany, Hungary and the United Kingdom. I graduated in Business Administration and have an MBA in Economics and Business Administration from the WU in Vienna and the Carlson School of Management from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.

Chris Lovatt (he/him)

Chief Operating Officer (COO) E.ON Energy Infrastructure Solutions

The challenge of climate change is existential and I’m passionate about creating a zero-carbon economy. As COO for E.ON Energy Infrastructure Solutions, I lead a team committed to driving a smart, sustainable, and personalised energy world to benefit both our customers and our climate.

Through our teams of engineers, technical, and customer experts we’re using our expertise, knowledge, and skills to help lead the ‘green’ recovery. We deliver net zero energy systems, creating a more sustainable future for generations to come by leading the energy transition for cities and industries.

I’ve spent 30 years working in major operational, commercial and supply chain roles for companies such as Land Rover, BMW, Boots and also as a Management Consultant for Ernst & Young. I joined E.ON in 2009 and held a number of senior roles in Supply Chain, Field Operations, Customer Service and Sales Operations, before being appointed to the UK Board in 2017 as Managing Director of Residential. In September 2020 I was privileged to take on my current role, with all the responsibility and opportunity it brings.

Fiona Humphreys (she/her)

Chief Digital Officer (CDO)

Digital technology is fundamental to leading the energy transition and our ability to offer every customer an energy solution that’s right for them.

I lead the digital transformation for E.ON UK, where I’m focused on understanding our customers’ needs and turning those needs into technology services and sustainable solutions for our customers’ homes and businesses.

As a black female leader, creating an inclusive workplace and improving our diversity is professionally and personally important to me. It’s the right thing to do. We also know that diverse businesses are more connected to and reflective of their customers, they’re more sustainable and achieve greater commercial success. I’m proud to be the board sponsor of Fast Forward, our talent network, which launched in March 2021 to support women’s career progression and development.

Throughout my 20 years’ experience in all areas of IT and business transformation I’ve led transformational changes, supporting sustainable growth and multimillion cost efficiencies, to transforming legacy technology estates, enabling organisations to reduce costs and effectively compete in the market.

Prior to joining E.ON in 2019, I was the Chief Information Officer for Compass Group UK and have worked in fast moving consumer goods, food service and retail across FTSE 100 and 250 companies.

Chris Norbury (he/him)

Chief People Officer

We want our customers to have the best possible, personalised, experience we can offer. I believe that the best way to achieve this is to create an environment where our people feel valued, included and empowered to improve our customers' lives.

Whether it’s helping to drive the smart revolution by recruiting and training Smart Meter Technicians, developing the industry’s future pioneers through our graduate, undergraduate and apprenticeship programmes, or encouraging everyone to reach their full potential through our inclusive talent programme – I’m proud of the opportunities we offer our people.

After spending over 20 years in HR and transformation roles for major international organisations, I joined E.ON in 2014 and undertook a number of roles before being appointed Chief People Officer for our UK business at the start of 2018.

Anthony Ainsworth (he/him)

Chief Operating Officer (COO) Industrial and Commercial

The energy revolution is underway. My role as COO of our Industrial and Commercial business, which I took on in June 2020, is to shape a future where businesses use less, and what is used comes from lower carbon and renewable sources. We’re building lasting relationships with our customers and designing smarter, more sustainable and personalised energy solutions that help them to reduce their carbon footprint and limit their environmental impact.

I joined E.ON in 2012 as B2B Director, and then held a variety of roles including E.ON UK Marketing Director, E.ON’s Global Chief Marketing Officer and of interim Chief Digital Officer. I was CEO of E.ON’s global B2B solutions business before returning to the UK.

I’ve worked internationally both with E.ON and in other organisations living and working in Bahamas and New Jersey and held board roles in Japan, Hong Kong and China. I have an MBA at Cranfield School of Management where I specialised in Entrepreneurship and Business Growth.

Julian Lennertz (he/him)

Chief Commercial Officer (COO) E.ON Next

I want to be part of the energy transition and making new energy accessible, affordable and sustainable.

After finishing my studies in International Business Management and with experience in consumer brands, I spent 8 years at Vodafone in commercial marketing. During this time I was part of the team responsible for setting up otelo, Vodafone's challenger brand, from scratch.

I’m obsessed with customer experience and I’ve always had a relentless appetite to create new things and to innovate.  In 2018 I joined E WIE EINFACH, a subsidiary of E.ON in Cologne, as their Director of Marketing and Digital Sales. Together with my team we successfully repositioned the business as an urban and digital energy provider, and in 2022 I was appointed as their interim Chief Executive Officer.

Before moving to the UK I was Senior Vice President of Transformation and Global Marketing E.ON SE,  focussing on how we steer and grow businesses, reshaping the brand and customer experience. It was in this role that I developed a mindset for commercial performance and how to be more transformative - repositioning companies with a growth mindset and the power of a strong brand.

I’m proud to co-lead E.ON Next as Chief Commercial Officer and build on the momentum we already have in our business. On top of this, I also retain responsibility across E.ON SE for Global Marketing and Communications.

I’ve recently relocated to the UK with my wife and three children.
