What was the Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive?

The Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive was a government scheme which promotes the use of renewable heating systems like air source heat pumps.

If you were eligible you'd receive quarterly payments over a seven year period for the energy you generate at home.

Using a renewable heating system will help reduce carbon emissions and make your home more sustainable. 

How could the Domestic RHI help heat your home with renewables?

Over seven years through the RHI scheme you could get up to £11,200 towards an air source heat pump. Prices for an air source heat pump in a three-bedroom detached house start at around £14,638.1

Am I eligible for the Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive?

  • You must own the renewable technology used to generate your energy.
  • Your renewable technology must meet the criteria for type and size set out by Ofgem.
  • Air to water heat pumps must have been installed after December 4 2013.

What is Assignment of rights?

The Assignment of Rights scheme typically offers between £4000-£7300 in funding, for a three-bed property, this is to help you pay for your heat pump. The funding amount available will be dependent upon the heat demand of your property and size of heat pump2.

We're offering Assignment of Rights funding to home owners in Leamington spa, the Highlands of Scotland and Northumberland. 

Clean Air Ventures, an Ofgem-approved provider will act as an investor, paying some or all of the upfront cost of a heat pump so you don’t have to. We’ll then get refunded through the government’s Renewable Heat Incentive scheme over seven years.

As part of securing this funding, our trusted partners Evergreen Energy can also offer a RHI compliant maintenance, monitoring and servicing package to support you after install.

What does this mean for my installation?

It simply means that Clean Air Ventures will provide the upfront funding towards your installation and therefore act as your nominated Ofgem 'Approved Investor' to which you will need to assign your Domestic RHI payments. Your installation will continue as normal and will still be managed by our team.
