How is a combi boiler different to other boiler types?

What's the difference between a combi boiler and a condensing boiler?
You can't directly compare combi boilers and condensing boilers, but the main features of them are:
- A combination (combi) boiler gives both heating and hot water directly from your home's mains without needing a hot water cylinder or water tank in other parts of your home. So they're perfect for smaller to medium sized houses, giving heat and hot water on demand and only using hot water when it's needed.
- Compared to older style boilers, condensing boilers can trap waste gases when the boiler is being used, which are normally released through a flue, and safely reuse it. So they're more efficient and eco-friendly than non-condensing boilers, using less energy for fuel and power. As it reuses the flue gases, anything that is eventually released through the flue is water vapour - which is why they're 'condensing'. Nowadays, all modern boilers are condensing.
Combi boilers that feature a flue heat recovery system become a combi condensing boiler too.
