A revolutionary heating and cooling solution that uses up to 75% less energy
The low-temperature nature of the system allows it to capture and utilise low-grade energy from local sources such as industries, the ground, solar, air, and water. Excess thermal energy is circulated back to the network for it to be used where needed for heating rather than being wasted. Heat extraction via heat pumps cools down the cold pipe allowing for the circular process to continue. The E.ON ectocloud™ an intelligent cloud-based platform, orchestrates all energy system components, optimising usage and unlocking the grid’s full potential. New or external primary energy is introduced only when necessary, prioritising the use of locally available and shared energy ectogrid™ is a single thermal grid equipped with one warm and one cold pipe, efficiently distributing, and sharing energy among buildings. The grid includes storage solutions for both heating and cooling to maintain balance and efficiency throughout the system. Buildings are cooled down through decentralised chillers that extract excess heat from the building directing it into the network increasing the hot pipe temperature. The energy streams into the network are controlled within a range of temperatures in order to adjust to the optimal energy performance equilibrium. Thanks to temperature control and the flexible design of the low-temperature pipes, energy sharing across buildings occurs with minimal losses.
