Telford shopping centre, and its Cherry Pink multi-storey car park, is a key landmark for local shoppers in the area. Managed by Savills PLC, the car park's vital for enticing customers into the shopping centre. With an awareness that there was high energy consumption and costs across all the car parks - especially given some lights were running 24hrs a day / seven days a week - the existing lighting was highlighted as an issue. With over 620 individual lights of varying sizes, a low cost, energy energy efficient lighting solution was sought.

By changing the traditional fixture lighting on the Cherry Pink multi-storey car park, each floor and pedestrian walkway benefitted from energy-saving LEDs. Now giving out bright white light for enhanced visibility and security – a significant improvement on the dull, yellow-coloured light emitted from the previous fixtures.

The new lighting solution proved to be a major success, both in terms of energy consumption and running costs. The new lighting reduced consumption by approximately 330,000 kWh a year, saving almost £40,000 in energy costs over the same period.
