Carbon Reduction Commitment

Unnatural emissions of CO2 are considered to be a major contributor to climate change. That is why the Government is aiming to reduce CO2 emissions by 34% before 2020, and by at least 80% by 2050, compared with 1990 levels.

The Carbon Reduction Commitment Energy Efficiency Scheme (CRC) is one way the Government is helping to reduce the amount of emissions from UK businesses.

The CRC – which is compulsory for all Half-Hourly power customers, and for businesses which used more than 6GWh of power in 2008 – allows businesses to buy allowances for their CO2 emissions. However, from April 2013 the number of allowances available to buy will be capped.

We can provide a tailored CRC partnering service for your organisation, ensuring compliance through a range of services from registration and annual reporting through to the definition and execution of your long term CRC strategy.
