Your Contract

If you choose to accept the meter upgrade

..and you’re currently on a SME fixed term plan

Your rates will stay the same until the plan ends, regardless of when your meter upgrade takes place. We will not automatically renew the plan and instead we’ll get in touch with you around 60 days before it ends to discuss your renewal options.

…and you’re currently on a SME 28 day plan

We’ll need to agree a half hourly contract with you before we install your half hourly meter.

…and you’re currently on SME Standard Variable prices or a SME Deemed contract

We’ll need to agree a half hourly contract with you before we install your half hourly meter.

If you don’t start a new contract as soon as your SME fixed term plan or half hourly contract ends, you’ll stay on your current Terms and Conditions but you’ll be charged at our Corporate Extended Contract Rates, which you can find here . These are higher than our half hourly contract rates. You can switch to another supplier at any time after that, providing your account has no outstanding balance.

If you don’t accept the meter upgrade

If you choose not to install a half hourly meter and your demand increases there could be a safety issue at your site and if we, or your network operator, think there is a danger to life or property we can arrange for your supply to be de-energised. We may also pass through to you any additional charges we have to pay on your behalf for your failure to install half hourly metering.

..and you’re currently on a SME fixed term plan

Your rates will stay the same until the plan ends. We will not automatically renew your plan and you will be able to leave us, provided you have no outstanding balance. If you don’t leave us you’ll be put onto a SME 28 day plan.

…and you’re currently on a SME 28 day plan or SME Standard Variable prices

You’ll remain on your current plan and can leave us by giving us at least 28 days notice, providing there are no outstanding payments due on your account.

…and you’re currently on a SME Deemed contract

You’ll remain on your current prices and can leave us at any time.

What’s different about a half hourly contract?

Here are some of the differences between your current SME plan and a half hourly contract

  • Our half hourly contracts are never auto-renewed.
  • You can contact us at any time to discuss your next contract, there is no ‘renewal window’.
  • Once you’ve had your meter for 12 months or more, your quotes will be based on your individual half hourly consumption pattern. Pricing this way enables us to price your contract much more closely to current wholesale prices.
  • As wholesale prices regularly fluctuate, the prices we provide will only be available on the day we issue them. If you can’t make a decision immediately we can provide you with a revised quote whenever you are ready.
  • If you have a half hourly meter you must have a meter operator (MOP) contract in place, and you must have agreed an authorised supply capacity (ASC) with your Distribution Network Operator (DNO).
