Frequently asked questions about E.ON Rewards

What's it all about?

It’s our customer reward scheme where you’ll get up to 1,500 E.ON Rewards Points per year just by opting in to one of our electricity or Dual Fuel tariffs that offer them.

You’ll be able to find out what tariffs offer Rewards by checking section 14 of our tariffs’ T&Cs.

How do I opt in?

You can join E.ON Rewards online or on the phone. It’s simple, log in to your online account and go to the E.ON Rewards section to sign up. If you don’t have an online account, you can register at any time to manage your rewards online or, if you don’t want to manage your account online, you can sign up to E.ON Rewards through our automated phone service. If you have a credit meter call 0345 301 5350 or if you are a prepayment customer call 0345 302 4317.

You can sign up to E.ON Rewards at any time if you are a new or an existing customer, but you will only start earning E.ON Points once you are on one of the eligible dual fuel or electricity tariffs.

Why do I need to opt in?

We believe our customers should be able to choose whether to join E.ON Rewards. So you will need to sign up to join E.ON Rewards to start receiving E.ON Reward Points.

 

What tariffs offer Rewards?

All our customers can opt in to get E.ON Rewards, but you’ll need to be on a tariff that offers them to start earning Points.

They’re only available on some of our electricity and Dual Fuel tariffs, but you can find out by checking section 14 of our tariffs’ T&Cs.

Unfortunately E.ON Rewards aren’t available on any of our gas-only tariffs.

Can I opt in if I’m not on a tariff that offers Rewards?

Yes you can, but you won’t earn any Rewards Points until you switch to a tariff that offers them.

You’ll be able to find out what tariffs offer Rewards by checking section 14 of our tariffs’ T&Cs.

What rewards can I get from the scheme and how do I get them?

Once you have earned E.ON Reward Points you’ll be able to exchange them for Tesco Clubcard points or Bonusbond gift vouchers that can be spent at over 18,000 high street shops, restaurants, bars and hotels across the UK.

If you choose to spend your E.ON Reward Points on Tesco Clubcard vouchers you can exchange them whenever you like and they can be worth up to four times their value with Clubcard Boost. If you choose Bonusbond gift vouchers you can exchange them as soon as you have 500 E.ON Points, worth £5 in vouchers.

Can you backdate the date I signed up?

No, unfortunately we can’t backdate E.ON Reward Points, you can only earn E.ON Points from the date you sign up and are on an eligible dual fuel or electricity tariff.

 

What do you do with my data?

We will share data with external partners (Tesco/Bonusbond) to send you your chosen reward. This data will only be shared with the partner who provides your chosen reward and only the necessary information will be sent to them and this information will not be used for any other purpose.

When exchanging for Tesco Clubcard points we share the following information:

  • Tesco Clubcard number
  • Number of E.ON Reward Points exchanged

When exchanging for Bonusbond gift vouchers we share the following information:

  • Name and address for posting the voucher
  • Number of E.ON Reward Points exchanged
  • Account number for verifying

Can I exchange my Rewards for cash?

No, E.ON Reward Points have no monetary value and can’t be exchanged for cash.

Can I transfer my Rewards to another account?

No, E.ON Reward Points are only valid for the named account holder and can’t be transferred. They have no monetary value and can’t be exchanged for cash.

 

How do I earn E.ON Reward Points and where can I view my points balance?

How do I earn my points?

You’ll get points once a month by opting in for E.ON Rewards and by being on one of our tariffs that offer them.

Can I earn E.ON Reward Points if I am on a single gas tariff?

No, unfortunately gas only tariffs are not eligible to earn E.ON Reward Points. E.ON Reward Points are available on eligible dual fuel or electricity tariffs only.

If you are a gas only customer why not get a quote for your electricity and find our Best Deal For You? Once you have signed up to one of our eligible dual fuel or electricity tariffs you can then sign up to E.ON Rewards and start receiving E.ON Reward Points.

Where do I view my E.ON Reward Points?

You can view your E.ON Reward Points online, if you have an online account. If you don’t have an online account, you can register at any time to manage your rewards online. If you prefer, you can call us on 0345 301 5350 if you have a credit meter, or 0345 302 4317 if you’re a prepayment customer. We're here 8am-8pm Monday to Friday and 8am-6pm on a Saturday. We can tell you your current Points Balance, what you have used and exchange your E.ON Reward Points.

Your E.ON Reward Points Balance will also be on your bills/annual summary.

When is my E.ON Reward Points Balance updated?

Your E.ON Reward Points will be added to your Points Balance within the first month of signing up to join E.ON Rewards and being on an eligible tariff and then at around the same time each month.

Do my E.ON Reward Points expire?

Yes, each point will have a life of two years. Each month we’ll calculate the E.ON Reward Points you have earned and add them to your Points Balance. After two years E.ON Points will expire and be subtracted from your Points Balance on a monthly basis as they expire, so make sure you exchange your E.ON Reward Points for Tesco Clubcard points or Bonusbond gift vouchers before this happens.

Which E.ON Reward Points are exchanged first?

When you exchange E.ON Points for rewards, we’ll use your oldest E.ON Points first.

I'm missing E.ON Reward Points, where are they?

If you think you are missing E.ON Reward Points then please call us and we will be happy to look into it for you. If you have a credit meter call 0345 301 5350 or if you’re a prepayment customer please call 0345 302 4317. We’re open 8am-8pm Monday to Friday and 8am-6pm on Saturday.

 

Exchanging E.ON Reward Points

What can I exchange my E.ON Reward Points for?

You can exchange your E.ON Reward Points for either 1,500 Tesco Clubcard points, worth up to £60 with Clubcard Boost, or £15 worth of Bonusbond gift vouchers that can be spent at over 18,000 high street shops, restaurants, bars and hotels across the UK, or a mixture of both.

If you choose to spend your E.ON Reward Points on Tesco Clubcard vouchers you can exchange your E.ON Points whenever you like and they can be worth up to four times their value with Clubcard Boost. If you choose Bonusbond gift vouchers you can exchange them as soon as you have 500 E.ON Points, worth £5 in vouchers.

How many Tesco Clubcard points can I get?

Every E.ON Reward Point is worth a Tesco Clubcard point. You will earn 1,500 E.ON Points a year so these can be exchanged for 1,500 Tesco Clubcard points a year. If you choose to spend your E.ON Reward Points on Tesco Clubcard vouchers you can exchange your E.ON Points whenever you like, no minimum exchange value, and they can be worth up to four times their value with Clubcard Boost.

How many Bonusbond gift vouchers can I get?

You will earn up to 1,500 E.ON Points a year that can be exchanged for £15 worth of Bonusbond gift vouchers a year.  The minimum you can exchange for Bonusbond gift vouchers is 500 E.ON Reward Points, worth £5, and you can only exchange E.ON Reward Points for gift vouchers in £5 denominations (£5,£10,£15 etc.).

Why can’t I set up my E.ON Reward Points to automatically exchange?

We want you to have the choice every time you come to exchange your E.ON Points. Having this flexibility is a key feature of E.ON Rewards. Currently you can choose to get Tesco Clubcard points or Bonusbond gift vouchers or a mixture of both. You decide what you prefer each time you exchange your E.ON Points.

In future we hope to launch more rewards in addition to Tesco Clubcard points and Bonusbond gift vouchers so you will have even more ways to exchange your E.ON Reward Points.

What can I use Tesco Clubcard points for and where can I find out more about them?

You can use your Clubcard vouchers at Tesco, in-store, online or for petrol. Alternatively you could get up to four times the value with Clubcard Boost; there are over 600 Boost partners to choose from. When do I get my Tesco Clubcard points

You will need to ensure you register your correct Clubcard number with us before exchanging your E.ON Reward Points for Tesco Clubcard points – you can do this on your account online. If you don't manage your account online and have a credit meter, call 0345 301 5350 or if you’re a prepayment customer please call 0345 302 4317. We’re open 8am-8pm Monday to Friday and 8am-6pm on Saturday.

When you exchange your E.ON Reward Points these will be transferred securely to Tesco and will appear on your next Clubcard statement and your Clubcard account online. You’ll then receive these as Clubcard vouchers from Tesco to spend.

How do I register my Tesco Clubcard?

When you go online to exchange your E.ON Reward Points for Tesco Clubcard points and don’t have a Tesco Clubcard registered you will be prompted to register one at this point.

If you phone us to exchange E.ON Reward Points for Tesco Clubcard points and you don’t have a Tesco Clubcard registered the advisor will take your Clubcard number.

If you already have a Clubcard registered with us then it will be displayed at this point even if you registered your Clubcard on one of our previous reward schemes, if you want to change this to a different Clubcard at the point you can.

 

What do I do if my Tesco Clubcard number changes or if I lose my Tesco Clubcard?

If your Tesco Clubcard number changes you will need to let us know before you exchange you E.ON Reward Points.

You can update your Clubcard number on your online account by selecting ‘change Clubcard details’ If you don't manage your account online and have a credit meter, call 0345 301 5350, or if you're a prepayment customer then call us on 0345 302 4317. If I currently collect Tesco Clubcard points from E.ON, can I continue to do this?

Yes, you can continue to receive Tesco Clubcard points on our new E.ON Rewards scheme but there are some differences to the previous Tesco Clubcard scheme.

Once signed up to E.ON Rewards and on an eligible tariff, you will earn up to 1,500 E.ON Reward Points a year, worth 1,500 Tesco Clubcard points or £15 worth of Bonusbond gift vouchers. Each month we’ll work out how many E.ON Reward Points you’ve earned and add them to your Points Balance. You can then exchange these for either Tesco Clubcard points or Bonusbond gift vouchers for the high street, or a mixture of both.

If you choose to spend your E.ON Reward Points on Tesco Clubcard vouchers you can exchange your E.ON Points whenever you like and they can be worth up to four times their value with Clubcard Boost. If you choose Bonusbond gift vouchers you can exchange them as soon as you have 500 E.ON Points, worth £5 in vouchers.

Where are my Tesco Clubcard points?

Once you have exchanged your E.ON Reward Points for Tesco Clubcard points, your Clubcard points will appear on your next Clubcard statement and be available on your Clubcard account online.

Which gift vouchers for the high street will I receive?

The voucher you will receive will be a Bonusbond gift voucher. This is a multi-store gift voucher that can be spent in over 18,000 outlets. That’s over 65 major high street retailers including a variety of local independent stores, selected hotel chains and restaurants. Please see the full list.

How long are Bonusbond gift vouchers valid for?

Once you have exchanged your E.ON Reward Points for Bonusbond gift vouchers the gift vouchers are valid for a minimum of 18 months. For exact dates please see the expiry date on the back of the vouchers received.

 

Where are my Bonusbond gift vouchers?

Your Bonusbond gift vouchers could take up to three weeks to arrive, however in most cases they will be with you within a week. If it has been more than three weeks please give us a call. What do I do if my Bonusbond gift voucher has been damaged?

When changes happen to me

What happens to my E.ON Rewards when I move house?

Your E.ON Reward Points will be available to take with you to your new home assuming you stay with us on an eligible dual fuel or electricity tariff.

If you call us to tell us you are moving and your new home is already supplied with electricity from us on an eligible tariff then the move should be seamless.

If you are moving to a new property which is not currently supplied by us you’ll have a gap where you won't earn E.ON Reward Points until we supply electricity on an eligible tariff at your new home.

If you believe you have not had your E.ON Reward Points transferred then call us to discuss this and we can arrange for them to be transferred across. If you have a credit meter call 0345 301 5350 or if you’re a prepayment customer please call 0345 302 4317. We’re open 8am-8pm Monday to Friday and 8am-6pm on Saturday.

What happens to the E.ON Reward Points in the case of bereavement?

E.ON Points are only valid for the named account holder. We may, where the account holder is deceased, agree to transfer the account into their spouse or civil partner’s name and in that case any E.ON Points earned by the deceased will be transferred to the new account holder.

Leaving E.ON Rewards

What happens to my points if I switch supplier or decide to opt out?

If you switch to a new supplier, we’ll update your balance right up to when you leave and round them up to the nearest 100 points. You’ll still be able to use your points as normal.

If you opt out, or switch to one of our tariffs that doesn’t offer Rewards, you’ll keep your points and can still exchange them as normal, but you won’t earn any more points. If you choose to opt back in, and you’re on a tariff that offers them, you’ll start earning points again.

How will I know if you make any changes?

We’ll contact you to let you know if we make any changes or decide to withdraw the scheme.

We’ll always give you at least 30 days’ notice to any change.
