About Domestic RHI

The Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive is a government financial incentive which promotes using renewable heat. Systems which heat up your home by using clean energy sources can help to reduce carbon emissions in the UK, and meet the UK’s renewable energy targets.

Payments from the scheme

The scheme is open to households both off and on the gas grid. Those who join the scheme get payments, issued quarterly over seven years, for the amount of clean, renewable heat produced by the system.

What does this mean for you?

A heat pump is likely to cost around £11,000 for a four bedroom detached house. Through the RHI scheme you could get up to £8,9112, over seven years, towards the cost of an Air Source Heat Pump.

Just like boilers, Air Source Heat Pumps should be serviced annually to ensure they run safely and efficiently.

The important stuff

1 Lines are open 8am to 8pm, Monday to Friday, and 10am to 6pm on Saturday.

2 The RHI of an Air Source Heat Pump in a four bedroom detached house using over 20,000 kWh of heat per annum would equate to an annual payment of £1,273 per year (based on 10.18p/kWh) helping you offset the cost of the installation.
