Terms, conditions and eligibility
Smart metering is a relatively new technology – as such, certain customers aren’t yet eligible for Smart Pay As You Go.
This includes customers in certain property types (for example those in flats) or where meters are difficult to access or out of reach. There are also certain meter types/setups that we can’t exchange at the moment, for example mixed meter types (where a customer has one Prepayment and one credit meter), E18, Heatwise, where a customer has microgeneration or is on Green Deal.
You’ll need to be an E.ON customer for both Gas and Electricity, or just Electricity, and have no debt on your account.
Due to the regional approach adopted for this pilot, Smart Pay As You Go is currently only available for existing E.ON customers who live in certain areas – once you’ve registered your interest, we’ll be in touch to let you know when we can book an appointment to change your meter.
