What happens if I’m not eligible for the new boiler grant but my boiler needs replacing?
If you're not eligible for the boiler grant, you can still get your boiler replaced from us. Our complete price includes a Worcester Bosch boiler installed by Gas Safe engineers, up to a 10 year guarantee and affordable payment options.
Are there any additional costs if I'm eligible for the new boiler grant?
We advise that all contributions are £395. This is based on a standard like-for-like boiler replacement, installed in the same place with no additional extras. The contribution may increase if extra work is required or if you want to install your boiler in a different location. We’ll let you know if your contribution needs to be increased and then it’s up to you if you still want to go ahead.
How long will the process take from application?
Current timescales are 6-10 weeks from your application being made to the final installation. The boiler replacement scheme can take longer during peak periods, such as in winter. We’ll keep you updated on timescales during the process.
I don’t receive benefits but someone that lives in my property does. Can I still apply for Affordable Warmth?
Yes. If there’s a permanent resident living at the property who is in receipt of benefits we could still help.
Am I eligible for savings on my electricity costs too?
Warm Home Discount is a government scheme that helps those who are struggling with their energy bills.
The legal stuff
1 Whoever applies – and qualifies – will only need to pay £395 towards the standard replacement of the gas boiler if theirs is broken or faulty. E.ON Energy Solutions Limited will pay the remainder as part of the Government scheme called Affordable Warmth. There may be additional extras or further work required alongside replacement of the boiler, for which the customer will need to cover the cost. The assessor will let the customer know how much this will be on completion of the free home survey, and it’s then completely up to the customer if they want to proceed to installation. This offer is available through the Affordable Warmth Scheme and is subject to eligibility and a free home survey. See our eligibility criteria. Not eligible for private tenants.
Lines are open Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm. Calls will be charged at your local rate.
