How much do solar panels cost in the UK?

Generally, solar panels aren't sold as single units - you'll need at least 6 panels to see any benefit. A 6-panel package from E.ON starts at £4,995.1

You could have solar panels on your roof for just £138.75 per month with our 3 years interest-free credit option.2

Installation is included in the package and you'll receive a full in-home assessment before your solar panels are installed to ensure you get the right package for your home.

How does Solar PV work?

As an energy supplier we can offer UK solar panel customers an exclusive Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) tariff that pays you for the energy you export back to the grid.4

The price you receive on your quote includes everything, from scaffolding to inverter and solar PV panels. There's no hidden installation costs.

You can choose between paying a deposit, paying in full, or spreading the costs with our flexible payment options​.

Add a solar battery on finance

Adding a solar battery to your solar photovoltaic system gives you storage for any excess energy for you to use as and when you please, giving you less reliance on the grid and saving even more money. Battery storage can be added to your package from just £96.33 per month, over 3 years with our 0% APR interest-free option.

Payment options to suit you

We have a range of options to help you weigh up the cost of solar panel installation.

You can pay in full, with a deposit or choose one of our flexible payments options so you can spread the cost of solar panels for up to three years at 0% APR Representative.2

 

Flexible finance

Our range of payment options means you can spread the cost of your solar system, including 0% APR finance.2

Pay a deposit

Simply pay a deposit and settle the balance once your installation is complete. This would be within seven days of installation and is subject to a credit check.

Pay in full

You can pay the full amount upfront for your solar system. There is no need for a credit check with this option so it's quick and easy to do. 

Who can apply for solar panels on finance?

You can apply to pay through the solar panels on finance scheme if you meet the following criteria. Terms and conditions apply

  • Minimum age of 18 at date of application.
  • Maximum age of 85 at the end of the agreement, unless the term is no more than 12 months, in which case there is no maximum age limit.
  • UK residence for a minimum of the last 3 years.
  • Have a mobile phone number. 
  • Have a valid email address.
  • Be employed, self-employed, retired, in receipt of disability allowance or a homemaker. 
  • Have a bank account in your name and for which you are the only signatory required to authorise monthly direct debit payments.
  • Have an individual gross income of £10,000 or more, or a joint income of £10,000 or more if married, living with partner or in a civil partnership.
