Here's a checklist to help you make your own comparison:

  • Your energy use – our quote will be based on the amount of energy you tell us you use each year.  Make sure you compare using the same amount of kWhs otherwise you won’t be able to compare accurately.
  • Your personal projection – you should see this on a recent communication from your existing supplier, or you may already have a quote from other suppliers. Energy suppliers offer different discounts depending on how you pay, for example the tariff you choose, your payment method, your choice of paper or paperless billing, or if you take both electricity and gas. Use your current projection or quote to try to make a like for like comparison.
  • Could you pay less – look out for savings by changing tariff or payment method with your existing supplier.
  • Exit fees – if you’re on a fixed price tariff at the moment, check to see if your existing supplier will charge you an exit fee before your switch
  • Other benefits – your existing supplier might be giving you other benefits, such as vouchers, rewards or boiler maintenance.
