"We’re pleased to offer free cavity wall insulation to people across Britain. Improving the fabric of the nation’s aging housing stock is crucial in helping to ensure people stay warm and well all year round, while also contributing to lower energy use and bills. "

- Chris Lovatt, Chief Operating Officer of E.ON UK Energy Solutions

E.ON has today launched the offer of free cavity wall insulation to eligible households across the country as part of the Great British Insulation Scheme.

The offer of free insulation is available to people who meet certain eligibility criteria, including their home’s Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) ratings and council tax banding and that they, or someone they live with, is on certain qualifying benefits. There are offers available for E.ON Next energy customers in addition to people not supplied by E.ON Next.

Chris Lovatt, Chief Operating Officer for E.ON UK Energy Solutions, said: “We’re always looking for ways to help our customers become more sustainable and every measure we install brings us one step closer to achieving the UK’s net zero target.

“We’re pleased to offer free cavity wall insulation to people across Britain. Improving the fabric of the nation’s aging housing stock is crucial in helping to ensure people stay warm and well all year round, while also contributing to lower energy use and bills. This scheme further reinforces the need to act now to take climate action, enabling many people to help futureproof the energy efficiency of their homes for free.”

E.ON has three options for people to take-up the offer of free or part-funded cavity wall insulation*:

  •  E.ON Next homeowners are eligible for free cavity wall insulation if their home has an EPC rating between D-G and their council tax band is between A-D in England or A-E in Scotland and Wales.
  •  Any homeowner (regardless of their energy supplier) is eligible for free cavity wall insulation if their home has an EPC rating between D-G, or to private renters with an EPC rating of D or E, and who have someone living in the property who is in receipt of one of the following qualifying benefits:
  • Income based Job Seekers Allowance, Income related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA), Income Support, Pension Credit, Guarantee Credit, Working Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit, Universal Credit, Housing Benefit, Pension Savings Credit or Child Benefit.
  • Anyone (regardless of their energy supplier) can pay £500 towards cavity wall insulation and E.ON will cover the rest of the cost. To qualify, people must own their home and their home must have an EPC rating between D-G and their council tax band will need to fall between A-D in England or A-E in Scotland and Wales.
