02/12/2021

"Supporting diversity and inclusion is vital in today’s workplace and that’s why we’ve taken great strides to create a culture where all our colleagues feel welcome, valued, supported and respected.  As we drive to net zero, our clean, green energy future needs a diverse and inclusive workforce, we’ll only be able to achieve this by continuing to ensure diversity and inclusion is at the heart of everything we do."

Michael Lewis, Chief Executive of E.ON UK

Renewable electricit1 and sustainable solutions provider E.ON UK has once again been named in the Inclusive Top 50 UK Employers list, having appeared every year since 2017.

The only energy supplier to be named on the list, E.ON has improved its ranking year-on-year and is now ranked at number fourteen on the list. It comes after E.ON updated its recruitment policy so all jobs are now advertised as flexible, meaning all roles are open on a part time and job share basis.

The Inclusive Top 50 UK Employers list showcases leading organisations working across all strands of diversity and promoting inclusion throughout every level of employment.

Michael Lewis, Chief Executive of E.ON UK, said: “Supporting diversity and inclusion is vital in today’s workplace and that’s why we’ve taken great strides to create a culture where all our colleagues feel welcome, valued, supported and respected.

“As we drive to net zero, our clean, green energy future needs a diverse and inclusive workforce, helping reflect the diversity of our customers and our communities and to better meet their needs through the creation of innovative solutions. We’ll only be able to achieve this by continuing to ensure diversity and inclusion is at the heart of everything we do.”

E.ON was recognised for its inclusivity practices, which include moving away from traditional talent pools with selection processes and instead adopting talent networks which are open to all and designed to help develop the future skills required, such as engineering and digital technology.

Earlier this year E.ON signed the Race at Work charter and has continued to develop its inclusivity networks, which now support areas including racial inclusion, gender equality, parents, LGBT+, menopause and mental health, with over 1,700 colleagues actively part of these networks.
