Michael Lewis, E.ON UK CEO

  • ‘Climate+’ offers 100% renewable electricity1, carbon offset gas, and tree planting to help people reach their sustainable goals
  • ‘Next Drive’ offers EV drivers E.ON Next’s best value tariff plus cheaper overnight off-peak renewable1 charging for EVs
  • The move follows recent research2 from E.ON which reveals that nine in ten (89%) Brits say being more environmentally friendly is on their list of priorities for 2021 E.ON Next, the newest face of renewable electricity provider E.ON1, has launched two new tariffs to help people become more sustainable. It comes after recent research by E.ON revealed nine in ten (89%) Brits have being more environmentally friendly on their list of priorities for 20212. Alongside its existing fixed and variable rate tariffs, E.ON Next now offers:

Climate+

  • A new tariff which provides 100% renewable electricity1 as standard and offsets the carbon emissions associated with customers’ gas use.
  • E.ON Next will offset the gas by investing in carbon neutral initiatives, including the funding of clean energy projects around the world through carbon emission reduction certificates.
  • And for every customer who signs up to Climate+, E.ON Next will fund the planting of five new trees with the charity One Tree Planted, supporting the Amazon Rainforest, and directly helping to tackle the global climate crisis.
  • The tariff is priced at £1,075 for a typical dual fuel customer.

Next Drive

  • For EV drivers, E.ON Next now offers 100% renewable electricity1 as standard, E.ON Next’s best value tariff and cheaper overnight charging.
  • The tariff allows drivers to charge their cars at a fixed price of 4p per kWh between midnight and 4am, potentially saving customers up to £188 a year. Outside of off-peak hours, Next Drive is priced at 17.6p per kWh.
  • Customers will need to use the free Next Drive app to ’set it and forget it’ and automatically schedule charging at the cheapest off-peak times. Customers can also use the app to monitor the energy use, costs and savings of their at-home charging over time.

Michael Lewis, E.ON UK CEO, said: “We’ve provided 100% renewable electricity as standard1 and at no extra cost for all our customers’ homes for almost two years Now, through E.ON Next, we’re giving people simple ways to make their heating and hot water and their driving more sustainable.

“In addition to greener tariffs, we offer a range of solutions to help people better manage their energy through smart, personalised and sustainable technologies, so we can all play our part in meeting the nation’s net zero ambitions.”

E.ON has worked with EV charging experts ev.energy to develop the innovative Next Drive app.

Nick Woolley, Co-founder and CEO of ev.energy, said: “We’re proud to be working with E.ON to deliver more sustainable and cheaper electric vehicle charging to customers across the UK. By using the Next Drive app powered by ev.energy’s Application Programming Interfaces and algorithms, E.ON Next customers can automatically capture the cheaper off-peak price, and charge at the greenest times on the grid.”
