We own and operate four offshore wind farms in UK waters: the UK's first offshore wind farm near Blyth in Northumberland, Scroby Sands off the coast of Great Yarmouth, Robin Rigg in the Solway Firth and Humber Gateway off the Holderness Coast in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
The 219 MW Humber Gateway offshore wind farm has 73 turbines and became fully operational in May 2015. It was officially opened by Andrea Leadsom MP, Minister of State for Energy and Climate Change in September 2015.
We're also in a consortium in the London Array, which is currently the world's largest operational offshore wind farm. Phase one was completed in December 2012 and the wind farm became fully operational in April 2013 meaning the wind farm can supply enough power for up to half a million homes due to its 175 turbines.
We’ve now started construction of the onshore elements for our Rampion offshore wind farm which is located off the Sussex Coast, with offshore construction activities beginning from January 2016.
